ATM: Wellness and Well-Being (Part II)

ATM-20240610

The next few A Thoughtful Moments will be covering the integration of Wellness and Well-Being, and how they are paramount to our community.

Wellness and well-being are the foundation of a flourishing community. 澳门六合彩开奖现场 is committed to supporting the wellness and well-being of our staff and students. We do this by working together to create welcoming, safe, caring, inclusive and respectful environments that are trauma informed and responsive to the needs of students and staff. In 澳门六合彩开奖现场, we see staff wellness and student well-being as equally important, and essential components of our flourishing community.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and the CASEL Framework

SEL is the process through which all people acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions, achieve goals, feel and show empathy, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions.

You can see the direct connection between the 4 key components, or needs, of the Circle of Courage, and the 5 core competencies, or skills, of SEL that help us meet those needs. It is our work as a system to support our students and staff to access learning and resources to promote the development of SEL competencies.

Using SEL approaches consistently within service units and school settings is an evidence-based strategy to increase student well-being. The Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) has developed a framework to support the implementation, and understanding of, social and emotional learning (SEL). The CASEL Framework underlines the importance of a schoolwide approach and connections made between students, schools, families and communities. For more information on CASEL’s SEL framework, .
